Fox

Theater in Westwood Ca that is. A quick half hour on top of an old painting to keep my rusty hand in. I'm so slammed with commercial work this is all I could do reciently. First time with this subject, tough to be different with it... I was in a hurry, but was also trying to get back to painting looser.

Oil 6x8

Cool painting! Bill, do you undercoat your canvases at all, and if so, what colour? I'm interested in the effects you strive to achieve if using such a method.

Sweet! I click to enlarge and then squint at that impact area. A treat. Now go knock out that commercial work.

It is always amazing to see your brushwork. I think you achieved being looser in such a fabulous way. Great simplification and treatment of light.

You've given the sky a dark, liquidy, "ocean floor" look, very cool!
I like the quick 'n' dirty paintings, the brush strokes are wild. I would understand if you had screaming panic-fits while doing this.

Nice color, Bill. When you've got more studio time you should paint it six feet tall.

Just checking in and saying hello, your stuff is looking great. I think the "Donald" portrait might be an official masterpiece. The colors in his forehead and the bold strokes are money here.
Looking good.
Best,
Todd

Tony -- I don't think I could get into the detail at that size-- I'll cheat and keep the busy ones small and abstract.
