4 Rails


A 9x12 oil on linen board. A favorite spot just north west from the old Monrovia train station. It was a bit overcast so the light was a little dull.

nice crunchy sky man!!! great panting! i'll be in laguna and san juan all weekend! surfing and hanging with fam - i MAY try to squeeze something out of a tube in the next couple days - time permitting

so i had a painting about half way back from darkening it wrong - going to grab my lunch and move the car and it doesn't start! yes - a digital pic a big grey foreground a jump from my in law FRANK! the tide was dropping FAST so i was struggling with the painting anyway - freezing

want to hit laguna late this week? sound gay enough? dude there is some SERIOUSLY scenic shit there just up from las brisas ... there are also a ton of BULLSHIT galleries and micro brews ? brews suck - there is also the WORST tiki rum shit at royal hawaiian

it was cowboy night in san juan friday...if you aren't dressed west then the jail you - no shitting - costs a buck to get out! i want to paint the mission soon

do you know if the huntington gardens allows painters in there? i'd love to hit the cactus garden sometime and it's closer to you than it is to me...that could kick ass too!

we were out there yesterday looking around and MAN they have some killer paintings in their collection - edgar payne willy wendt and the like - AMAZING stuff from much earlier too...

i am pinned this week too - more rainbow bright wet into wet stuff for bozzlebags' zip

let me know about laguna or the gardens next week?

I usually hate overcast days, but after seeing this I think I love them. This is a beautiful painting, I love the lighting on the train.
