Pumper Shadows

----------->>>>> in links----------->>>>>>>>>
Note Dirty Beauty book for sale in E- bay store. The cover has arrived!

Exploring deeper into Long Beach we go we find it's not a beach town, as much as an oil field people live on. The oil pump is omnipresent. Sometimes referred to as Crickets, the Pumpers remind us of big birds pecking the ground in slow motion, making then have a kind of mechanical life. They are being scaled back as housing become more valuable than low yielding wells, but they are still everywhere, particularly clustered the industrial areas, but condos are going up there too. Mixing into a urban oil zone. oil 12x16

Retired Caboose

Better Scan--

I'm trying to find a way to get into the Autry Western show without doing cowboys and Indians. This is a little old caboose parked in the back area of the Jamestown RR Museum. 11x14oil on Linen. I had a tough time scanning this one for some reason. I'm not really a western painter, but the show every year has a lot of artists I like and a lot that I find to be so weak that I tell myself I can do better. I wouldn't bother except it's so close to me and my competitive nature.
