Beach Light final & Drity Beauty ads

24x32 oil on wood. Study is below ( scroll down) too 6x8 oil on linen. A beach subject is the commission I started 2 times. I had referance on the others and choked, I finally worked mostly out of my head and had fun. I hope the third is the charm.

The third time is definitely the charm in this case. The client is gonna flip (if they haven't already). I guess you can just throw away all your reference stuff now, because the best stuff is in your head!

I really love your work. I'm especially drawn to industrial sites but the light effects are really terrific. Great work.

The Beach Light final looks great, so did the study. When you did this did you just work from the study and memory or photos too?

Saw your ad in Southwest Art, it had prominent placement, right there by the subsription card so the magazine opens right to your page.

Nice painting, beautiful light!

I plan on getting a book at some point here. I just spent a bundle on school supplies, but I'm working on it. "Dirty Beauty" is a book Doug would have in his living room, right by his desk.
I can understand the whole trouble keeping up thing, I've been busy and have unfortunately been neglecting all my favorite painters lately.

Thanks everyone! Tony, BG, D. Sandy and Tim. Yes the Ad came out great and in a good place. It's so nice not being disappointed for once. ;-) The client got the Beach painting today and liked it so much he bought the study so it's all good. We even were on the same page with the frame.
