Congratulations William! Great work, I like the different structures and how you used the light in the painting. But you've got lots of very good paintings. :-)
William, this one is nice, atmosphere is amazing, great color and depth in the darks. Saw it come up in the entries late in the month (along with some other great pcs.) and knew it was going to be a tough competition!
Congratulations William, much deserved..the winning combination of very strong abstract design elements, vibrant brushstrokes, and nearly florescent colors amp up your usual unique visual voice to it's highest level yet...TRULY an exultant "Dirty Beauty"!
When I saw this one the first thing that came to mind was a noisy atmosphere, metal clanging etc. The glowing orange of the sky makes it incredible looking. Congratulations on getting 2nd.
Talking about you and marvelling at your painting up here in Cumberland a week or two ago with some people including late Neil Boyle's wife Betty who now lives in our village; your name came up because someone we all know went down for workshops with Jennifer McChristian and topic of California painters came up. So, just had a great visit looking at your new work, after avoiding/ignoring computer for the summer. Congrats on the award, and the new work; stunning.
I love this painting; it has great values and back lighting. Looked at Judge Stewart's site and my conclusion is that you guys could be brothers. (His half of the room would have been clean!)
I didn't know you were in the CAC annual show at the Pasadena Museum of California Art, but when I saw this piece from across the room, I knew it couldn't be anybody but you! Congrats, Bill!

Congratulations! Stellar piece of work, Bill.
The way you use warms and cools to play off each other is always impressive. Your pieces of the last several months are really lively and appealing.
This is also a very strong piece. (I will have to go look at the others now.)

This an awesome piece William, well deserved. I love the way you get the impression of structure across with limited strokes.
This one is hot! Love the atmosphere.
