The Break

Remember the Auction is the 25th!

While on my last visit to NY I to a fast snap of this waiter take a smoke break in front of the little Chinese restaurant next to the entrance to the apartment building were we were renting a studio. It was meant as a simple quickie, but has a little something I like more than the average figure painting I struggle to do.
Oil on linen 10x8

Painters I like: Russian artist Moiseyenko

Fantastic job! The way you handled the figure with your wonderful loose brushwork is extremely well done.

Trying to find more on that Moiseyenko, but having trouble with Google the all-knowing. Got a first name or a direction to look into for more Moiseyenko?

I agree, this one has magic...strong composition, your bold brushwork and all the elements are stated with just enough information. Beautiful, one of your strongest figures!

Just love the artists you're sharing on your blog--especially the Russians. My favorite is Dugarzhapov Bato.

Killer painting Will. Didn't know a brush could double as a chisel and hammer.
