Dump Truck

Another painting from the old mine/ truck museum in Jerome Arizona. Not sure if it has enough background context around it to give it the massive size it is.
Oil on wood 18x26

Mookie

Here is a painting by Jason Seiler I had commissioned for Christmas. Sharon and I are thrilled with it. He did a seamless blend of caricature and Old Dutch master painting. The best part is looks just like him, a feat since all birds look alike. Have a look at his bolg he’s amazingly talented, the link is about 19 links down in my link column to the right.

There are many things I like about this painting, Bill. Really dig that light behind the rear tire. The edgework all over is really nice. I don't see a lot of the underpainting showing through in this one. Although it looks like you went light blue as a base for some of the painting.

Hope you had a great Christmas, Bill. And wishing you a wonderful, prosperous new year.

Mooky look'n mooky - Jason did this feathered friend justice and then some. Truck painting impressive, imposing, and pretty damn fine.. excellent way to close out the books for '09.

Both paintings are just awesome. It would be hard to show the scale - but I think you've done great just as is.

Is Mookie an African Grey? What a clever painting - quite unique and a wonderful way to capture the personality I'll bet!

William!

Your work always uses dingy, grayed-out colors so well!

Happy New Year to you!!

re Dump Truck: the "massive" definitely comes through! That was my first thought, just looking at the thumbnail. Brooding and menacing and foreboding mood. Great bit of variety to add to your dry/hot palette.
